Additionally, the system seamlessly integrates with our Firecrest ND filters.
A bigger polariser gives you a wider view
With advancements in optical design, it has become increasingly common for lenses to have larger threads. To keep up with these changes, we have expanded our CPL (circular polarising filter) to 86mm, providing better compatibility and performance with a wider range of new wide-angle lenses and cinema lenses like the Tokina 11-20MM T2.9. The polariser can easily be attached to the rotating ring adapter included in the kit and becomes an integral part of the holder. Its operation is simple with an easy-to-use thumbscrew, allowing for precise adjustment of the polarising effect. Additionally, the filter's free movement allows for it to remain attached at all times and be easily turned off when not needed. And, with its sturdy construction, the CPL filter can even be used independently without the holder.
More step rings, more flexibility.
Experience even better results with the Firecrest 100mm Holder Magnetic Kit, featuring two rotating adapters included. Enhance your wide-angle photography by utilizing the 86mm - 86mm and 86mm - 82mm adapters, and for lenses with a diameter of 77mm or smaller, use the provided step rings with the 86-86mm rotating adapter for optimal performance.
The Holder Frame
We have made many subtle changes to improve the ergonomics of the holder, making it easy to hold and use even when wearing gloves in cold weather. The frame itself is made from aircraft-grade aluminium and includes scratch-resistant ABS slots and an integrated light leak gasket. The addition of a gasket on the frame removes the need to add gaskets.
This Firecrest 100mm Holder Magnetic Kit now includes two types of covers: a vented cover for use with grad filters and a fully enclosed cover for enhanced performance during long exposure photography. Additionally, it features light guards which offer added utility for photographers working in dynamic environments. The holder can also function as a standard holder without the light guards when minimizing light leaks and reflection is important. For added flexibility, each holder comes with extra slots which can be used as backups or, with the longer screws included, can be turned into a three-slot holder, allowing for up to four filters to be used simultaneously with the included 86mm rear mount circular polariser.
The holder boasts a newly redesigned clip system that offers a robust thumbscrew for secure rotation and placement under tough conditions. Its improved slots ensure a firm and smooth resistance, reducing the required pressure and providing confidence when using filters.
