Shapes Barbican is a selection of six woollen artworks that draw inspiration from architectural forms and details found inside the centre. 

Circle derives from the panelling and doors of the Barbican Theatre
Hexagon is taken from the Concert Hall panelling
Triangle echoes the walls in Cinema 1
Rectangle mimics the ceiling grilles of the Art Gallery
Lozenge is based on the ventilation details visible in the main foyers
Shield replicates a symbol found across the Barbican, particularly in windows

The artworks were created using a unique digital felting process developed by the artist and were commissioned and made exclusively for the Barbican to celebrate the centre's 40th anniversary.

Each framed artwork is sold separately and are an edition of 5.

Adam Blencowe studied Design Products at the Royal College of Art. His design approach focuses on combining existing materials and systems in order to produce unexpected results.
